There have just been several large explosions in
Lviv - the extreme western city in Ukraine that
has so far escaped the worst. It has also become
a hub for those fleeing the country.

But Russia, perhaps correctly, sees it as a hub
for dispersing western military supplies to the
Ukrainian forces.

The explosions seem to have happened just beyond
the city edge. There is thick and continuing
black smoke covering the horizon.

In short, despite Russian hints they would shift
to concentrate on extreme eastern Ukraine, clearly
any part of the country is still under the gun.
