Had this one a few months back - it was mildy frightening for me:

Middle of the night, sky is dark.
There's a large airliner circling my house, flying *very* low

Fighter jets are criss-crossing the sky around it and me, apparently
trying to shoot this big jet down.

It crashes on the hill out back behind my house. I start to hear lots of
footsteps heading through my side yards towards the back. They're
soldiers, darkly dressed, rushing to the crash site.

I turn towards the front of the house and see the entire park across the
street has been turned into a military base - trucks, flood lights,
soldiers, shouting.

I remain inside, keeping quiet. No interaction with anyone.

First off, *Cool name!* is that a pseudonym? It reminds me of the killing of a kingly ruler by means of strangulation (as in "garrote.")

Second, I'm unaware of ever having read anything from you previously, so "Welcome to the group"!👋

Third, I noticed the PGP signature, but am curious as to how it was "attached" to this message?!?
(I'm unaware of how any attachments may be made. Any tips?) I took a look at the PGP site mentioned, and may upload my own keys (made back in the 1980s? '90s?) as I've not used them since the year they were created (or possibly a year or two after that.) Seriously, *how* did you accomplish an attachment in this group??

Meanwhile, you may notice that I tend to [edit quoted text for clarity] so please understand that any [edited text] is NOT to usurp the original text, only to [clearly show] where text *has been* [edited.]

Reminds me of a "body of thought" (such as a group that encompasses the concept of flight rather than denying or seeking to destroy it) that is approaching (or near to) your own perspective.

Reminds me of the leftist "woke" mob, possibly Shari'a, possibly communism, most likely leftist (possibly "evil" although "self defense" still remains a possibility.)

Hmmm... I'm curious as to whether or not there were any survivors of the crash...?

This definitely has a "dystopic feel" to it.
> I remain inside, keeping quiet. No interaction with anyone.

Reminds me of the original "Passover" back in Egypt.... I could get into all sorts of analysis, such as Matthew 5:39, but for now, I'm curious to hear / read if there might be any follow-up observations / comments regarding your dream (from your own perspective.)

Regardless, good start ✔

This was my first post to the group. My newsreader is 'Gnus', which is
software integrated into another software called 'Emacs'. The whole
message was wrapped in a PGP signature by Emacs. Sometimes the signature
reveals itself as an attachment (often the case with email), but I did
not "attach" anything.

Im pleased to share the dream with you Silk Dick. The only other
reflection is really just the overbearing sense of dread I had about
what was going on. I knew that those guys outside were bad and I needed
to hide, but also no one made any moves to enter my home.

I started back in the BBS days of dial-up, PRE-AOL, and a newsreader called "OLX" (I think) that could attach a different quote / "tagline" to every message. Some of them were hilarious! :-)

Either way, it helped me learn how to "reply in-line" (such as is being done in this reply).

Later, "Outlook Express" served as a "news reader" but *most* news servers were pay to play. There were (are?) very few "free" news servers anymore. (I haven't looked in years.) Google Groups seems to have *absorbed* USENET to a major degree.

That tells it all right there, although again, how anything gets "attached" in this group *is* curious...!

Is that how my name appears in the group? I used that LONG ago in the AOL era, but not for *ages* since AOL sorta "went away." It *used* to be my listing in the phone book :-)

Well, for whatever this may be worth, #WalkAway from the Left (the DNC, green-new-deal, global-warming mindset.) RUN away, if possible! The time is coming (and for the most part is already here) where conservatives will start to be viewed as "open season" by the criminal left who will criminally use guns, even in the most anti-2nd Amendment areas of the country (anti-gun locations in the world.)
