Well, THIS one is I suppose "global" news TOO....inasmuch as the late Walters for a good while was co-anchor--along with a reportedly quite reluctant Harry Reasoner--of ABC's World News Tonight.

I gather Walters had been seriously out of her wits for a long time; it was at least four years ago that that punishingly-unfunny comedienne Joy Behar reported after a visit to the ailing Walters that she couldn't recognize her, nor the other Walters pals accompanying Behar on the visitation.

But no one could deny that Walters had a distinguished broadcast career...though I for one, found her broadcast journalism and interviewing style considerably less incisive after she defected from NBC to join ABC News. And as least she reportedly got along with the late great Hugh Downs on 20/20, unlike her reported frosty relationship with Reasoner.
