"Sometime" clarinetist with the NYP?
I hope you're being facetious, since
this legendary musician spent 60 years
with it and his accomplishments there
and elsewhere in the music world are
well documented in the cited article.

He also happened to have been born
just 24 days before my father, who was
his classmate at HS of Music and Art
(Dad played French horn and piano) as
was their friend, fellow clarinetist
(now famed Doctor) Richard Silver, all
in the orchestra there together before
Stanley left school early to go pro.
(Both Dad and Dick are still alive and
Dick still plays when the opportunity
presents itself.)
