The expected arrival of of a red wave failed to materialise. Instead a corpse arrived DOA, having expired unexpectedly en route. Burial is being prepared at the funeral home. Doctors told media present that not even an incompetent president can revive the patient.

The aforementioned incompetent president *killed* the patient.

Thankfully...

Does anyone suspect that the media were hyping the idea of a red wave in the hope that blue voters would panic and ENCOURAGE more blue votes? Well, maybe the second part isn't that likely - but we all know that the media love hype, either way.

Michael Moore, after all, did what he did before (in the summer of 2016). That is, he went against the media grain and correctly predicted the outcome of the election, both times. See here:

https://www.michaelmoore.com/p/midterm-tsunami-truth-41

I had no idea he wrote 40 columns about the midterms alone! (See the links at the bottom.)

It is an interesting question: In order to get your side out to the polls,
is it better (i.e., more effective) to make them feel like your side is
doing well or the opposite (that they are doing badly). If you tell them,
we're great, we've got this, get out and show your support, that appeals to
people of the "cheerleader" persuasion - people who like to be on the
winning team. Conversely, if you tell them "We're getting killed, you have
to get out and do your part to give us any chance at all", you make them
feel bad, but it should inspire them to go out and vote. This appeals to
people who are more of the "fighter" type personality.

It really is (to me, anyway) an interesting question - which is more
effective in the aggregate. Obviously, implicit in this is that the
underlying reality is irrelevant. What matters is simply numbers; are
there more people of the first type or the second type? Which approach
will get out more people?

Yes, I saw an interview with MM a month or so ago, in which he predicted
that we'd do OK in these midterms (despite everyone else predicting gloom
and doom). It was one of the few things that gave me hope, since I think
he is pretty good at this. He was certainly right in 2016 (when just about
everyone else - including myself - were dead wrong).

Moore predicted the woke party would WIN.
They lost-by 3 million votes and the same 222-213 majority in this Congress.
