Jeeze, Drudge's flunkies STILL haven't covered this major story--sports or otherwise newsworthy, it is a HUGE obit by any standard--as of 11:27 am Eastern!

Of course, the Drudge crew is front-paging the ongoing Pelosi-trying-to-trigger-nuclear-war-with-China item--which I grant is potentially WAY bigger news.

There was some nice coverage during today's Yankees game. One guy pointed out that Vin knew when to shut up and let us see plays unfold. That was a great ability with impeccable timing which cannot be duplicated today, since every little thing is sponsored. "This double is brought to you by Blah, Blah, Blah Insurance." Sheesh.

I would have to agree that Scully was the best ever. I've heard a fair amount of radio's Red Barber, who also brought a fine uniqueness to the microphone. I think it's a close call, but ol' Vin was just so welcoming to any person who tuned in, baseball knowledgeable or not, that I guess the scale is tipped in his favor. I doubt that I'm the only one who started paying less attention to the Dodgers once he retired.
