Inter alia Kawaii includes crypto- and/or quasi- paedophilic elements,
where woman is supposed to be more sexy if she imitates the naive and
weak, albeit 'capricious' child (what is called 'burikko' in Japanese).
This fashion has also touched South Korea (what a large part of K-pop

progressive trends against toxic masculinity, similar fashion affects
male pop-performers too (those 'idols' and the like).

Still it seems to be primarily a feminine thing. Such a connection
between female sexuality and accentuated innocence-weakness is pretty
common for all sedentary cultures. However, bringing this setting down
to the image of helpless teenager is particularly east-Asian - mainly
Japanese - extreme feature. And this extremism directs to paedo field.

The Kazan Tatarness has something to do with it. Women of cultural
background historically related to Eurasian steppe nomadism, including
the Volga Tatars, are usually not capable to *properly* perform such a
naive-weak teen image. And, in China, women from the north - closer to
the nomadic zone - seem more inclined to nuhanzism.

Sakha (Yakut) signer self-ironically presents herself in South Korean
environment as a weird prickly specie. In the Yakutia regional showbiz,
there is a strong trend to adopt K-pop, but they can't (don't want to)
sexualize child[-like-]ness the way the Koreans do. So their imitation

and hairstyles etc well, but one essential ingredient is insufficient.
There's not enough shade of teen immaturity, which makes it 'sweet'.

Within Eurasia, there was quite a long historical period when nomadic
and sedentary cultures existed at the same time in geographically close
regions. Their ways of living, economic systems differed significantly
in some respects, what was reflected in formation of different socially
expedient cultural settings and behavioral patterns. The women-specific
behavioral-aesthetical features noted above is one of the manifestations
of such cultural differences.

Mainstream civilization is aimed at sedentarism, so that nomadic
cultures sooner or later are doomed to sedentarisation. In each specific
case it depends on local specifics. The Eurasian steppe nomadism was
becoming uncompetitive since about 16 century, and nowadays true nomadic
cultures no longer exist in Eurasia. But cultural features / behavioral
patterns are more inertial. Thus, "post-nomadic" makes societal sense.
In turn, while sedentarism is the major stream, it's also more prone to
form social-cultural imbalances and excesses, and then one might look at
appropriate nomadic settings when seeking for better comprehension.

Back to 'paedo theme, it seems the first showbiz figure who recently
promoted 'paedo as a mass-cultural product widely worldwide was Russian
producer Ivan Shapovalov <https://is.gd/bqWmoB>, the creator of T.A.T.U
band, based on crypto-paedophilia (combined with quasi-lesbianism). In
2003, it topped pop-musical charts of the most solvent countries. And -
looks like no coincidence - their success was especially incredible in
Japan.

The Shapovalov's project was based on a market calculation (to sell a
stuff that would touch well 'animalistic' instincts of the mass public).
I think, in similar way this amoral guy might well become a child porn
producer (if it weren't punishable). In turn, for the modern east-Asian
showbiz employing the burikkoesque patterns, there are some established
genre conventions and sense of proportion, but it still seems somewhat
controversial to me anyway.
