1) She paid him a lot of money for using his office.

2) She paid him a lot of money to use his office.

What is the difference between the meanings of these sentences?

Does '1' necessarily imply that she used his office before paying him?
Does '2' necessarily imply that she paid him before she used his office? (In this case it'd be possible that she didn't use his office at all. She paid him to use it and then something went wrong...)

Gratefully,
Navi

"For using" isn't wrong, but "for the use of" makes it easier to compare the
two sentences. Now put "...last week", "...this week" and "...next week" at the
end of each?

She paid him in the past but there is nothing more to imply?
