The Declaration of Independence is a timeless statement from which all people can seek guidance. Its adoption should be a date of remembrance for all people everywhere who want to reassert their right to govern themselves and not be exploited by others.

Every currently existing state had its own declaration of Independence which from their citizens' point of view is a timeless statement.
The only exception are the Taiwan Independence promoters who don't see themselves as Chinese but cannot or do not want leave the
Republic of China.

It is obvious that many nations do not really seek guidance from US Independence. After all, the US was a Settler Colony developed through
annexation. Nevertheless, many states are still thankful to the US. If I am the Defense Minister of NATO and other Western nations such as
Australia, continuous US emphasis on its military power, without doubt, would make my job a lot easier. Japan and to less extent South Korea,
belong to this group although they pay a high price.

But for US citizens, how thankful are them?
It is paradoxical that the US as a nation probably enjoys more external legitimacy than internal legitimacy. A lot of non-US citizens are currently
receiving the benefits of US hegemony. Ukrainians are the currently example. They certainly would put a plus plus check mark toward US policy.
How about US citizens?

Why does the US have fiscal deficits for several decades despite its is being the largest economy of the world and it on the whole has continuous
economic growth? In short, it lacks legitimacy which is the government's attitudinal source to collect taxes from the people rich and poor. "We the
People" have little TRUST toward the US government. Consequently, the US government is not able to collect more tax to cover its fiscal deficits.
