I do not need convincing that "U.S. is not perfect" (understatement).
U.S. is quite frequently "overrated".
You do not have to be good. It is enough to be the best (available choice).

Illusions about PRC are better fit for discussions here, aren't they?

The two sentences are the opening lines of Taote Ching. The correct translation is
readily available.
