Here I had in interesting Royal Horse Fork which came into being through a minor promotion of a pawn to a horse: https://lichess.org/f2y056T4ptFm

It was not such a minor promotion that when you're an enormous amount of material ahead, you have a plethora of choices, and you decide to do something weird, but this was a real necessity.
The pawn became a horse, and forked the royal couple. True, after I would take his queen, he could take my queen, but then I would take his castle, and he would be left with no pieces against a horse and a castle.
So he surrendered.

I would have taken his queen, but Stockfish told me there is a better move, a simple mate in three. But hey, if you can take a queen, and end up against a king with no pieces while you have a horse and castle, than there is nothing to think about. Some people push that principle to the extreme and say: https://tinyurl.com/ziematin1 But for me, when I see a juicy Royal Horse Fork, I just go for it. No questions asked.

I must have had a senior moment, because Stockfish told me that on move 46 there was a mate in 34 moves in the position, and I totally overlooked it.

Happens. Nobody is perfect.

All in all it was an enjoyable horse fork which brought the game to a quick end. I'm happy about it.
