What are the minimum requirements for by computer to post here?

I have an Intel 486 DX2-66 with 256MB of RAM.  I'm running Windows 3.0
with Multimedia Extensions 1.0.  The hard drive is a 5TB in a RAID 5
configuration.  I have a PS2 keyboard and a killer Logitech trackball
and a Philips Envisor CRT monitor.

If no one responds I guess I will have to ask my parents for a new keyboard.

Thank you for bringing to my attention that people may have forgotten that
there are minumun system requirement's to be allowed to post in this
newsgroup. They went into effect last November. For the sake of people
that forgotten, and for any NEW poster's, I will be reposting the system
requirement's on a monthly basis from now on, starting with today.

1.) A 14.40 Boud Modem. Or faster. High-speed internet is extremely
reccomended.

2.) a Pentium Processor. Or faster. Your computer MUST be able to easily
run it's nbewsreader software.

3.) and also, for teh same reasom, at least 4 MB of RAM.

3.) Window's 95 or better is REQUIRED.

You need to upgrade your OS and get a new processor. I would reccomend just
getting a whole new computer.

slow.  What do you recommend that I buy?  My budget is only $5000.00.

As early as 1991 I was doing Usenet over 2400 baud modems, albeit
telnetting into the campus library HP9000 to run rn. (Later we ran
the dos-based trumpet newsreader, which existed before they
wrote trumpet winsock.) DOS boxes with Crnwyr (sp?) packet
drivers sprouted up all over the campus network. DHCP? We didn't have
any such thing, just a RARP server.

Meanwhile, we made a student-access "Unix" host with Linux in 1992,
and life got interesting after that...

For the love of god, just go into Best Buy, tell the guy you have $5000 and
you need a computer that can connect to Usenet.

He will help you. That's about all I think you can handle right now. If
you still need more help, ask one of the neighborhood children to come with

It a 300bps acoustic, but I rarely get that because my iPhone25 doesn't
fit the coupler very well.

I just got back and he told me that I was fine since people could read
my posts.  He did suggest a cleaner for my trackball to remove all of
the jiz.  You know what I mean!
