But the ten foot elephant in the room here is that we know that the excess mortality
in the US over the Covid period matches or is greater than the reported 720K Covid
deaths. So if it's not Covid that caused these excess deaths, what did?

reported in the US last week is 10% to 20% low - erring on the side of
optimism. Some say closer to 35%.

Just comparing 2019 to 2020,
There were 4,000 more murders according to the FBI
Traffic deaths are up 7.2% according to NHTSA.
Drug OD deaths are up 30% according to CDC
There were many more deaths due to postponed or simply skipped
treatments for other diseases. CDC says 41% of adults delayed or
avoided medical treatment in 2020.
There are lots of factors to be considered. You can't look at "excess
deaths" in a vacuum unless you just want a number to substantiate a
preconceived notion.

That may be based on early cases when they didn't routinely test
everyone for covid when they entered the medical system but after the
spring of 2020, everyone got tested and if you were positive, you were
a covid patient, no matter why you went there. It was explained here
as an isolation issue, not a medical reason for admission but you
still died WITH covid and you made the stat. CDC said only 6% of covid
deaths did not have other co morbidities. In some cases Covid
exacerbated a preexisting condition and in other cases it had no
appreciable effect at all. Covid was still on the chart tho as a co
morbidity.

OK.  Some say 10%, some say 20% and some say 35%. Sounds like the "believable professionals" are all pulling numbers out of their asses.

Since about 70% of the population is overweight/obese, I'd guess at least 70% of the 700,000 died because they were metabolically unhealthy and couldn't handle a cold virus.

The other factors have been considered and factored in by the credible
researchers who have done the analysis. The conclusion is that the excess
death number exceeds the Covid death number, that 720K people or more
have died from Covid is not in doubt. But suppose it was 690K or 750K,
what difference does it make in the big picture of this deadly pandemic?
I also note you threw out a bunch of other increases in deaths, but nothing
about any decreases. Why is it that you always hitch your caboose to the

The "health supplement" business is a billion dollar industry and they
swing a big dick at the campaign contribution table.
As long as you call something a supplement, regulation is minimal if
present at all.
I agree most of it is snake oil but the market goes all the way from
Mercola's miracle cures to Flintstone vitamins.

The only decrease I have heard about is flu deaths. I agree hygiene
and distancing probably contributed to that. There is also the problem
that some flu cases got co mingled with Covid cases since most Covid
tests would not find the flu. Since the treatment was similar at the
time, (basically treating symptoms) it didn't make much difference to
the doctors.
