She was careful in describing Taiwan as the democratically governed island and therefore adhere to the "One China" principle which the foundation of Sino-US relation. However, the proclamation still does not make sense.

How her, long on optics but short on substance, visit has made it ""unequivocally clear" that the United States would "not abandon" the democratically governed island"?

Rephrase the question a little differently.
How does her short visit make the US soldiers more willing to die for the democratically governed island?
