The US and Russia is in a proxy war in Ukraine. Until now, China has been more or less neutral. Will the US risk the status quo for one visit by one of its dumb politicians?

It will be dumb of China to start a fight with the US in its own front yard when it can join Russia to do it in Ukraine.

She certainly has the deepest faith in Western, especially American democracy.
From her point of view, as long as she is pro-democracy, she could do no wrong.

This visit by another US politician to Taiwan says a lot about the world.

1. The US does not recognise China's sovereignty over Taiwan.
2. US one-China policy simply means this: There's only one China but Taiwan is not part of it.
3. US says it does not support Taiwan's Independence. It does not have to. Taiwan is already a dependent state of the US. This way, it's better for the US.
4. Ideology triumphs rules. Its an ideology-, not rule-, based world. US-led Western-style democracy rules. In the name of defending democracy, the US and its allies can overrule a nation's sovereignty over its territory.
5. Might makes right.
This last point is what the US cunningly accuses China of adopting. This visit of The Witch of the World tells the world this: Because the US has the might, it can do anything it deems is right. Agreements signed with the US means nothing.

It has been pointed out quite often. To solve the problem of Taiwan, China has to be on par with or exceed US military might. China does not have to fight the US at its own front yard. The military presence of the US around China will disappear if China too is capable of making a military presence around the US.

That will take time. Right now, China can work more closely with Russia to deal with the US.

Pelosi's visit does inform the world about US leadership.
Thomas Friedman had succinctly criticized Pelosi's behavior on three issues:
1. Nothing good would come out her visit.
2. The timing is wrong.
3. Another clear example of US unilateralism.

Pelosi is 82. But she behavior is as impulsive as an 28 years old.

The Chinese better know what they are doing. While they are making all the threatening moves against Taiwan, they should remember June 1967 in the Middle East. On that month, several Arab countries simultaneously made threatening moves against Israel. This triggered the Israelis to start a full-scale war with pre-emptive strikes against the Arabs. The Arabs were caught off-guard. They lost big.

China should not underestimate their enemies. Do they know how strong is the Taiwan military? It's been decades since the Taiwan military has been equipped by the US. What's been known openly may only be the tip of the iceberg. A lot are done covertly.

These military exercises around Taiwan seem like impulsive reactions from the Chinese. They should have an internationally worked out plan and co-ordinate their operations with other countries. Work with the Russians, North Koreans, the Arabs. Then carry out simultaneous operations in Taiwan, Ukraine, Palestine. Meanwhile the North Koreans should renew their nuclear and missile tests, launch a nuclear-tipped missile and explode it over the Pacific. To make it simpler, the Chinese can lend the N Koreans a nuclear-tipped ICBM to carry out the test.

Also watch out for American allies. The Japs will join the Americans in any counter-actions against China. Not to forget India. The cunning Indians will act against China in the disputed Himalayan border region.

This is going to be a really hot summer.

Taiwan is part of China. Sovereignty and responsibility are the two sides of the same coin.
It is China's sole responsibility to maintain peace across the Strait. In addition, China has
the determination as well as capability.

America and Japan want to re-ignite the Chinese civil war. But I doubt they would really

Arabs and Israelis are of different people from distinctly different cultures.
PRC and ROC are the same people from the some culture.

The war games are indeed to best way to preserve peace through strength.
