Indeed. The spam floods from SEA have been stopped. They will now move
to other social media platforms, hopefully tiktok.

The two confusing parts of the spam flood that I never understood was what
were they trying to accomplish (since their spam made no sense when read)?

And why didn't google just put a stop to it? For example if the same
account spams a thousand messages, all they have to do is ban it.

unsure what "spam floods from sea" could be referring to, and plain text
usenet newsgroups have been around long before anything was being called
"social media", so all of that could be relevant in more modern contexts
but alas, i've never used "social media" because it's too big brotherish,
they're all moderated and track each user beyond george orwell's wildest
imagination; unmoderated usenet newsgroups are autonomous, decentralized,
and have always attracted spammers and troll farms since their inception;
so while google's recent disconnection from usenet has definitely helped
to reduce these horrid infestations, spamming and trolling will continue

google is all about money. Groups weren't making any.

Look at what they have done to YouTube. 15 second ad + another 4 second
ad (before it can be cancelled) to listen to the beginning of 3 minutes
of music to see if you even like it. Many of the ads are woke and
insulting. It's not worth it.

StartupTV and FreeTube exist, use them and you will not see any ads.
